‘T’gana much better than double engine states’

HYDERABAD: Telangana finance minister T Harish Rao on Sunday has lashed out at the BJP for boasting about double engine governance.
He stated K Chandrasekh-ar Rao-led TRS government is implementing more welfare schemes than the BJP-ruled states.
Speaking at a programme organised in Siddipet, Rao said, “Aasara pensions given in the BJP-ruled states is much lesser than Telangana. The state is giving 2,016 for senior citizens and 3,016 for specially challenged people. The TRS government has been providing 24 hour power supply to farmers, which no other BJP-ruled state is doing,” Harish Rao said.
Taking a jibe at previous Telugu Desam and Congress governments, he said, “TDP government disbursed pension of only 70 per month and Congress disbursed 200 earlier. KCR has increased the pension to 2,016 and 3,016 for beneficiaries under various categories.”
Stating that the TRS is allotting completely constructed houses to benefeciaries, he said, “Financial assistance by the Congress government under Indiramma housing scheme was only sufficient for the construction of basement.”
