Hyderabad: Couple held for stealing jewellery

HYDERABAD: A couple has been arrested for stealing gold jewellery from the house of a teacher in Malkajgiri. Police have recovered the booty from their possession. The accused were identified as Renuka, 29, a domestic help from Santosh Nagar of Jawaharnagar, and her husband Madhu, 38, a labourer.
On September 19, police received a complaint from Vignes-hwari, 32, a teacher, stating that she along with her family members, went out on on September 15 and returned on September 16. After reaching home, Vigneshwari realised that a mobile phone and gold ornaments, weighing seven tolas, were missing.
The complainant went to her mother-in-law’s house nearby and asked if she had seen anyone enter the house. The victim was told that a lady was spotted leaving the house and she claimed she was a domestic help looking for work.
Police registered a case and verified CCTV footage. They identified the accused as Renuka, who had previously committed thefts. She was convicted for committing offences and came out of prison. Police arrested Ren-uka along with her husband Madhu.
